As you can see from the table, the conceptual key that the PAP conceptual metaphors are more frequently categorised under is the conceptual key of positive personification. This shows that the conceptual metaphors that PAP uses in their speeches are largely based on potraying themselves positively and feels almost like they are trying to sell themselves to the voters, or rather their particular brand of governance, which may have lead to the voters feeling a sense of separation, or apartheid, from the PAP, thus swinging the votes away from them.
In contrast, the WP utilises both positive and negative personification in order to elevate themselves and push down the opposition in the same breath. This enables the WP to gain a significant footing over the PAP which employs only positive personification. Thus, the voters are swayed in WP's favour.
